County Valuation Appeal Information
The assessor’s office staff should be able to answer your questions about your assessed value and explain how to appeal if you cannot come to an agreement.
The protest period for the Board of Review is April 7th thru May 5. You may appeal your assessment whether or not you received an assessment notice. A notice is sent whenever there is a change in the property value or, as a courtesy, a change in ownership.
Property owners may request an informal review of the assessment by the assessor from April 1 through May 5.
Proceed to attachment Petition to Local Board of Review to obtain the form and to view the reasons for protest. (Do not use Reason 6 in an assessment (odd-numbered) year.)
