OCTOBER 8, 2009-SPECIAL MEETING OF THE WOODBURY COUNTY BOARD OF SUPERVISORS
The Board of Supervisors met on Thursday, October 8, 2009, at 1:00 p.m. Board members present were Clausen, Smith, Monson, and Walish; Boykin was absent. Staff members present were Patrick F. Gill, Auditor/Clerk to the Board and Victoria L. Ritz, Deputy Commissioner of Elections.

The meeting was called to order to canvass the Sioux City Primary Election held in Woodbury County on October 6, 2009.

Victoria Ritz, Deputy Commissioner of Elections, announced there were two (2) provisional ballots and three (3) after-election ballots which were accepted and added to the tally. Official Canvass results were as follows:

We, the undersigned Members of the Board of Supervisors, and ex-officio Board of County Canvassers, for Woodbury County, hereby certify the following to be a true and correct abstract of the votes cast in this County at the Sioux City
Primary Election held on the 6th day of October, 2009, as shown by the tally lists returned from the several election precincts.

For the office of City of Sioux City Council Member - 4 Yr Term, Vote for 3, there were Eight thousand seven hundred thirty-seven (8737) votes cast as follows:

John Fitch
Received one thousand five hundred thirty-eight (1538) votes

James P Gengler
Received five hundred eighteen (518) votes

David J Hays
Received one hundred seventy (170) votes

Thomas R Padgett
Received one thousand eight hundred ninety-two (1892) votes

Keith W Radig
Received eight hundred seventy-one (871) votes

Ian Rappolt
Received nine hundred thirty-two (932) votes

Jim Rixner
Received one thousand three hundred forty-one (1341) votes

Douglas F VanDerVoort
Received four hundred forty-nine (449) votes

Victor Vara
Received one hundred fifty-one (151) votes

Thomas Paul Venesky
Received one hundred fifty-two (152) votes

David Wantland
Received seven hundred twenty-three (723) votes

We therefore declare John Fitch, Thomas R Padgett, Keith W Radig, Ian Rappolt, Jim Rixner and David Wantland duly elected to go on to the City Regular Election November 3rd, 2009.

Motion by Walish second by Smith to approve and accept the Official Canvass results. Carried 4-0. Copy filed.

The Board adjourned the meeting.
