Re: Regional Town Hall Meeting December 11th

The Woodbury County Board of Supervisors invites its rural residents to a special town hall meeting at the Lawton Community Center (300 Cedar St.) on Monday, December 11th at 6:30-8:00 p.m. Board Chairman Matthew Ung will share an update on county business and the upcoming fiscal year budget, and other county elected officials will be present to provide their input on rural services they provide. In an effort to improve upon the regional nature of this forum, some county department heads (e.g, engineer, economic development director) will share updates on projects of particular relevance to those residents along the expanding Highway 20 Corridor. City mayors in attendance will also be invited to participate in a panel discussion of topics such as balancing urban and rural growth, rural services, and feedback on the county-funded comprehensive plans currently underway. Finally, SIMPCO representatives will be present to field questions regarding their services already provided to several rural communities in Woodbury County.

Remembering that good government is first and foremost transparent government, the Woodbury County Board invites and looks forward to your participation and discussion.
