Summary
Temporary - Summer 2022 - not to exceed 4 months.
SALARY RANGE: $15.00 to $18.50/hr. (Based upon education & experience w/ Woodbury County)
This position is seasonal, typically summer, performs beginning level sub-professional engineering work in the office or in the field and numerous other duties under the direct authority of County Engineer and Secondary Roads Foreman.Work Headquarters: Woodbury County Engineer's Office, 759 Frontage Road, Moville, IA 51039

- Positions available at various Woodbury County Secondary Roads Maintenance sheds: Moville, Correctionville, Oto and Hornick, Iowa
- Position typically during summer
- Performs beginning level sub-professional engineering work in the office or in the field and numerous other duties under the direct authority of County Engineer and Secondary Roads Foreman.
- Must be able to furnish and wear safety shoes while performing job duties.
- Attendance is required
Non-Essential Functions and Responsibilities - Provides assistance with a variety of duties within the scope of responsibility assigned by County Engineer & Secondary Roads Foreman.
Essential Knowledge, Experience, and Ability
Minimum Education and Experience Required to Perform Essential Functions:
- Knowledge of elementary mathematics and some college course work preferred; skill in the use of hand tools; completion of a standard high school course; or any equivalent combination of experience and training which provides the required knowledge, skills and abilities
- Minimum 18 years of age, previous experience desired
- Possession of a current valid driver's license and insurance with good driving record
- Ability to routinely lift 40 pounds
- Must be able to furnish and wear safety shoes while performing job duties.
- Perform physical labor in all types of weather conditions and be exposed to dust, fumes and loud noises.
- Ability to follow written and oral instructions
- Ability to communicate successfully with the public in clearly spoken English
- Candidate for hire must successfully pass a background check, a physical examination, vision, back screen and drug screen prior to employment.
