FEBRUARY 26, 2002THIRTY-THIRD MEETING OF THE WOODBURY COUNTY BOARD OF SUPERVISORS
The Board of Supervisors met on Tuesday, February 26, 2002 at 9:00 A.M. Board members present were Boykin, Clausen, Walish and Welte; Batcheller was absent. Staff members present were Karen James, Board Administrative Coordinator and Patrick F. Gill, Auditor/Clerk to the Board.

The Claims were approved as presented. Copy filed.

Meeting called to order.

Motion by Welte second by Walish to approve the Board minutes of February 19, 2002 as submitted. Carried 4-0.

The Board approved the reclassification of Paige R. Peterson, Assistant County Attorney, County Attorney Dept., @$41,605/year, effective 3-13-02, per AFSCME Asst. Co. Attorney Contract agreement from Step 2 to Step 3. Copy filed.

The Board approved the reclassification of Kimberly K. McKern, Motor Vehicle Clerk II, County Treasurer Dept., @$10.52/hour, effective 3-13-02, per AFSCME Cthouse. Contract agreement from Grade 4, Step 1 to Grade 4, Step 2. Copy filed.

Motion by Boykin second by Walish to authorize the Chairman to sign the Iowa Individual Health Benefit Reinsurance Program - 2001 Annual Reporting Form. Carried 4-0. Copy filed.

Motion by Walish second by Welte to authorize the Chairman to sign a Letter of Support for the Third Judicial District, Department of Correctional Services and Goodwill Industries for Grant Application to the Office of Drug Control Policy. Carried 4-0. Copy filed.

Motion by Boykin second by Welte to authorize the Chairman to sign a request to apply for a grant from the Missouri River Historical Development. Carried 4-0. Copy filed.

Motion by Welte second by Walish to authorize the Chairman to sign the Iowa Department of Natural Resources Grant Agreement for the Grants to Counties Private Water Well Program for FY 2003. Carried 4-0. Copy filed.

The Board discussed bids for jail food contract with Woodbury County Sheriff Dave Amick.

The Board discussed Law Enforcement Center HVAC Study with Mark Elgert, Building Superintendent.

Motion by Boykin second by Walish to approve the Woodbury County Law Enforcement Center HVAC Study to be paid from infrastructure funds as a reimbursable item. Carried 4-0. Copy filed.

The Board postponed discussion of a request by Siouxland Mental Health for mental health services funds.

The Chairman asked if there were any individual or group wishing to make a presentation of items not on the agenda or Supervisors concerns.

The Board adjourned the regular meeting until March 5, 2002.
