JANUARY 15 2009SPECIAL MEETING OF THE WOODBURY COUNTY BOARD OF SUPERVISORS

The Board of Supervisors met on Thursday, January 15, 2009 at 9:00 a.m. Board members present were Boykin, Clausen, Monson, Smith, and Walish. Staff members present were Karen James, Board Administrative Coordinator and Patrick F. Gill, Auditor/Clerk to the Board.

Various County department budgets were received for fiscal year 2010, as follows:

County Sheriff (General Basic)

Motion by Boykin second by Walish to receive the Uniform Patrol budget reduced by $11,524. Carried 5-0.

Motion by Monson second by Boykin to receive the Investigations budget as submitted plus $15,000 in revenue. Carried 5.0 .

Motion by Boykin second by Monson to receive the Homeland Security budget as submitted plus $10,000 in revenue. Carried 5-0.

Motion by Monson second by Boykin to receive the LEC-Correctional Facility budget reduced by $106,685. Carried 5-0.

Motion by Monson second by Walish to postpone action receive the Prairie Hills-Correctional Facility budget as submitted. Carried 5-0.

Motion by Monson second by Boykin to receive the Administration budget reduced by $84,801. Carried 5-0.

Motion by Monson second by Boykin to reduce the equipment replacement fund for vehicles by $19,500. Carried 5-0.

Motion by Boykin second by Monson to receive the Civil Division budget as submitted. Carried 5-0.

There was no action taken to receive the Highway Safety budget, the Dare Grant budget, the Project Safe Neighborhoods budget, the Anti-Gang Project budget, and the Electronic Monitoring budget as submitted.

Motion by Boykin second by Walish to receive the Crime Prevention budget as submitted. Carried 5-0.

Conservation (General Basic)

Motion by Boykin second by Monson to receive the Administration budget reduced by $65,000. Carried 5-0.

Motion by Walish second by Boykin to receive the Parks budget reduced by $50,000. Carried 5-0.

Motion by Monson second by Walish to receive the Naturalist budget reduced by $500. Carried 5-0.

Motion by Boykin second by Walish to receive the Nature Center budget as submitted. Carried 5-0.

Motion by Monson second by Boykin to reduce the equipment replacement fund by $15,000. Carried 5-0.

Non-Tax Funds

Motion by Walish second by Monson to receive the 257 Nature Center budget, the 266 REAP budget and the 677 Conservation Reserve budget as submitted. Carried 5-0.

Motion by Boykin second by Monson to receive the Communication Center (General Basic) budget reduced by $1,737. Carried 5-0.

Motion by Boykin second by Walish to receive the County Fair (General Basic) budget reduced by $14,000. Carried 5-0.

County Treasurer (General Basic)

Motion by Monson second by Boykin to receive the Motor Vehicle budget as submitted. Carried 5-0.

Motion by Monson second by Boykin to receive the Tax Department budget reduced by $3,000. Carried 5-0.

Veteran Affairs (General Basic)

Motion by Monson second by Boykin to receive the Administration budget as submitted. Carried 5-0.

Motion by Monson second by Boykin to receive the Assistance budget as submitted. Carried 5-0.

The Board deferred action on the County Attorneys budgets.

The Board adjourned the meeting.
