The Motor Vehicle Division of the Treasurer's Office issues vehicle titles and plates and registers and collects all vehicle fees for the residents of Woodbury County.

Title Transfers

BOTH THE SIOUX CITY and anthon offices will be closed on thursday, april 25th for our annual district ii training with the department of transportation.

Walk-In Service Visits

We process a maximum of three (3) titles for a walk-in service visit until 4:15 pm.
If additional title transfers are necessary, please make an appointment by calling 712-279-6500 so that we can provide you with the best possible customer service while continuing to assist other customers.

Drive-Up Window

The drive-up window at the Sioux City office is located on the south side of the Trosper-Hoyt building and is open from 8:00 am to 4:30 pm for vehicle registration renewals only.
Only cash or check is accepted at the drive-up window for registration renewals. If you are paying by debit or credit card, you will need to come inside to the lobby.
Plate returns and exchanges will not be processed at the window.

Dealer Service Desk

A Dealer Service Desk is available at our Sioux City Office where authorized car dealers can drop off title transfers that will be ready for pick up the next day.
The Dealer Desk is open from 8:00 am to 4:30 pm.
The Dealer Desk can process a maximum of three (3) titles for a walk-in dealer visit until 4:15 pm.

Pay Online, By Mail, or Drop Box

Customers have the option renew vehicle registrations online, through the mail, or by utilizing the drop off box. Online payments can be made with eCheck, Discover, Mastercard, and Visa. A fee of $30 will be charged for all dishonored checks, drafts or orders as prescribed in Iowa Code 554.3512.
